A high voltage 10W resistive load has a value of 100k.2. Load voltage is V=sqrt(10*100k)=1 kV. The load voltage ripple is required less than 10%. The load must be galvanically isolated from the grid! A 220Vrms/50Hz single-phase utility grid will supply the resistor power. Two converter are required for this purpose as shown below; one AC/DC rectifier and one DC/DC converter.
a) Select suitable topologies and design the circuits so that any switch (including diodes) should not experience >1000 V voltage. Find the all component values (i.e. L, C, turns ratio etc.)
b) Draw your circuit in PSIM and verify your results. Note: Choose the switching frequency between 10 kHz and 50 kHz.
