Electronic Engineering: Digital Systems
Part A:
CMOS circuits are made up of transistors to create digital logic circuits. Explain the term parasitic capacitance its cause and its effect on the circuit.
Part B:
Binary O and 1 values can be represented using a voltage. Given a maximum voltage for TTL technology, suggest appropriate voltages for detecting binary 1 and O. Explain why these values have been chosen for the binary values.
Part C:
Explain the term CMOS and why it is useful to digital circuits. Demonstrate an example of this this technology by drawing a CMOS inverter and describing its behaviour.
Part D:
Transistors use materials that are doped with differing elements to create a semiconductor. Explain how materials are doped to produce this semiconductor material and how this is used to create a NPN transistor and the electrical connections on the transistor.
